  • not a bad ride - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Not a bad car. Has 93000 miles and only things replaced have been alternator at about 80000 (seems a lot of them have this replaced) and wheel speed sensor at 37000 miles. Dash squeaks are annoying, but are hardly noticeable after driving for a while. Engine hasnt been touched, except for oil changes, and runs like is brand new.

  • Had some problems but in love with it! - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

My parents bought it at 95,000 miles and i was 15 and eager to drive it. It went from seattle to san diego and back overloaded and equipped with a Quad 4 engine, but it did a good job! Now its at 156,000 miles and it died and is waiting for a new engine. Im 18 now and the car was given to me, i will fix it up and remember those happy times we had with the family in that car.

  • Well worth my money - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Was a great car that I enjoyed owning for 12 years. I bought it many years back and it was only my 3rd car I have ever owned. $8000 was the selling price with 81000 miles on it. I hung up the keys finally (but regrettably) last week. I had not payed attention to the coolant level, and with an aluminum block in a quad 4, you never want to overheat it. unfortunately I blew a head gasket. This car has been the best thing I have owned and, if treated right, would be an excellent car for a daily driver.

  • Dependable Car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Weve had the car for over 8 years now and had very little trouble with it. The alternator finally did give out after 6 years but other that the normal things like brakes, belts and hoses, no real problems except for the cap piece for the spark plugs. Quad 4s are unusual and I have changed that phenolic cap for the spark plugs twice.

  • No bad for a third owner - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

I purchased this car from private owner at tax time for $900. Previous owner had already replaced the water pump before I got it, but had had no problems with the car other than that. (the key to it is DO NOT drive the car while it is overheating, thats why most people had problems with the Quad 4 motor) Since I have owned it, I have put a starter on it ($85 from auto zone lifetime warranty), tune up with air filter(less than $20), Front brake pads ($20), replaced all the speakers to match after market Pioneer XM/CD deck ($75 from Walmart for Rockford Fosgate) Car is not perfect BUT it gets from point A to point B quickly, with good handling, and get 32 MPG doing it.

  • Good all around car - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM

Great reliable car. Had problems with power steering pressure line. Dash squeaks and rattles. Shifting cable snap rings and rubber gromets fell off. Front seats could use some lumbar support. Noise in steering unit. Exterior chrome strips fading. Floor mats could be more dependable. Engine very dependable and powerful for a four cylinder w/ 5-speed. Nice gauges and dash design. Good car!

  • so far so good - 1995 Pontiac Grand AM
    By -

Bought this car with 93,000 miles on it. It now has 102,000 on it my husband drives it 4 hours a day back and forth to work.4 times a week. So far so good. the only problems with it is: a leaky valve cover, and the fuse to the power locks just blew. Nothing big, both easy fixes. and the air conditioner needs charged.
